On Stories, Systems, and the Raven
This collection was born from the inside.
For over a decade, I worked within systems that called themselves bold, fast, and innovative—structures built to scale, not always to care. I witnessed both remarkable ingenuity and deep structural harm. I saw how language can lift or limit, how culture is enforced not just by rules, but by rhythm—what is rewarded, what is repeated, what is quietly erased.
These stories are not exposés. They are not manifestos.
They are myths—not because they are untrue, but because they are more than just personal. They are the shape memory takes when it refuses to vanish.
The Raven is not me, but she carries pieces of me.
She carries the version of me that tried to earn safety by mastering a system.
She carries the one who questioned loudly and paid for it.
The one who mentored others while quietly unraveling.
The one who finally left a toxic work environment, not because she was sure—but because she had to choose herself.
Many of these stories began as private metaphors—something to hold onto in the fog. I didn’t expect them to become a map. But they did. And like any map, they show both what was lost and how to return to something more honest.
This collection is for those who have been silenced by systems that promised them voice.
It’s for those who sensed something was wrong, but couldn’t find the words.
It’s for those who stayed too long, and for those who left too soon.
If you’ve ever felt like a myth was written around you to keep you small—this is for you.
Thank you for reading.
Sarah is a writer, artist, and builder of thoughtful systems. Her stories are shaped by years spent navigating fast-paced environments, where she witnessed firsthand how ambition, innovation, and pressure can shape people—for better or for worse.
The Raven series was born out of these lived experiences. Through allegory and myth, Sarah explores themes of power, identity, resilience, and the quiet strength it takes to leave behind systems that no longer serve. Each story is a distillation of emotional truths gathered over time—truths about belonging, voice, silence, and the courage it takes to shape your own story when others would rather write it for you.
She lives and works at the edge of systems and stories, where introspection meets action—and where myth is a mirror, not a mask.
As her Raven and the Kingdom of Trade series unfolds, she is actively translating key stories into mosaic form—one tile at a time.
